Podometry

Easy and painless treatment of musculoskeletal disorders

Podometry

The way we stand or walk is unique to each one of us. In case of wrong posture or walking stance, it is possible that medical problems appear in the foot, the ankle, the knee, the hip, and even the spine.
To prevent and treat them, a peltogram is performed, which is used to measure the pressure and weight distribution when we are standing and also while walking. The data is visualized in high-resolution images and used to form an accurate picture of posture, movement and weight distribution in order to find the most appropriate way to address potential problems.

Examination

The test is carried out using a device with thousands of sensors which measures the pressures exerted on each point of the foot when it comes into contact with the surface. A computer is connected to the device and collects, processes and analyzes the specific information.

Types of pressure measurement.

The first type concerns the measurement when your body is motionless on the surface of the pedometer and is called static measurement.

The second type is called dynamic measurement and is related to the total pressures during walking.

Conduct

This is a painless and extremely quick test. The specialist will simply ask you to stand and walk on the surface of the foot sensor plate so that the sensors with the help of the computer can carry out the appropriate measurements.

Results

The analysis of these measurements is done by special software in order to help the specialist at the end of the examination to assess any problems and recommend the best way of treatment.

Need for foot analysis

If your orthopedist or physical therapist thinks you may have a problem with your feet or spine, they may ask a foot analysis scan to better diagnose the problem.
